“Broaching the space between sprawling long distance and an unmistakable intimacy, the latest release from Brosandi, an ongoing solo project based in Montreal, captures the nuance and delicacy of travel within a collection of vast instrumentals. In embracing imperfections – Brosandi notes he began to develop his approach to piano compositions only within the last year – a new form of vulnerability is found in the expansive soundscapes of Three Postcards and A Letter. Themes of connection are clear in the piece’s gentle nature, warm and undeniably passionate. While grand piano recordings form a basis for the work, an incorporation of underlying strings, electronic distortion and Brosandi’s signature ambience add depth to the record, furthering the sense of a journey that begins with each song’s title.”
